Why this works for RF

Harvest is the only major mechanic with essentially no damage check. Plants come to you in a fixed arena, they die to an aura, and nothing is on a clock that costs you rewards. Its main cost is attention, not gear. It is also how an RF character fixes one specific problem. A missing resistance, a wrong socket colour, an item one mod from finished. Budget players usually have exactly one thing wrong, and Harvest fixes exactly one thing.

What will brick it

  • Management cost. This is the highest-management strategy we would recommend, and the current write-up implicitly admits it by spending four paragraphs on plot ordering. Rate it High up front and let readers self-select.
  • The lifeforce-selling advice is trade-only and must be marked as such. An SSF reader following "check which colour is worth more on trade" will be confused. The live copy has this problem today.
  • Tier 4 plants are meaningfully tougher; a budget character should expect them to be slow.
  • This is the strategy people burn out on, and burnout is a real cost for a casual audience.

Swap off this when

The plot-ordering starts feeling like a job. That is not a joke. Concretely: when your gear no longer has a single fixable problem and you are only farming lifeforce to sell.

Atlas tree, in stages

  1. Call of the Grove → Bountiful Harvest → Bumper Crop → Doubling Season

Encounter rate first, then the multipliers. Bumper Crop and Doubling Season both scale the same encounter, so they compound. Take them before anything that adds variety.

  2. Primal Drought → Wild Drought → Skittering Swarms

Colour droughts bias the crop that grows, so pick the colour you actually need. Primal for the crafts that matter to a budget character. Skittering Swarms is 12% increased scarabs found and pays for itself in any strategy.

  3. Vivid Drought → Crop Rotation, only if you will play the plot game

Crop Rotation is a keystone that changes how you play the encounter, not a passive multiplier. Uninvested it feels lacklustre. Skipping it for more Drought nodes on your target colour is a legitimate finished tree.
